A Taste of NOLAin the West Village

Named after the owners childhood neighborhood, Gentilly aimed to bring NYC a taste of New Orleans with a refined atmosphere. In a city with 24,000 restaurants, Gentilly needed a brand that would grab the attention of hungry customers in the West Village. Creating a traditional yet stylish brand rooted in Creole culture gave the customer an authentic New Orleans experience.

      The Brand

New York,Meet Southern Charm

Elegant watercolor paintings of entrees and scenery were created by a NOLA native for the branding. I used wire-thin dividers to replicate the style of the Victorian era; and printed the menus on a textured beige card stock for them to feel dated.

The branding was designed to look weathered, but the website had to be sleek and advanced. I developed a website that allows users to easily reserve a table, order online, or book a private event. Vast white space and large images were used to reflect Gentilly’s sophisticated ambiance.
